SUMMER TIME

Summer is here and school is out, the Texas heat is upon us with triple digits expected this weekend. E finished his 1st grade year with Mrs. Johnson very strong. He is reading well into the 2nd grade level. We are very proud of him and the progress he has made this year! Thank you Mrs. Johnson and Jollyville Elementary for a wonderful 1st grade year!

Me and E at his end of the year PTA Banquet May 2010

Unbelievable how quickly the year has gone by and just how much E has grown up. Everyday he amazes us with something new. He remains his baby sister's favorite person.

Baby e's first snow :)

We have snow and baby e got a chance to see it. She didn't quite know what to think. Like most of us here in Texas :)

We know that, to our friends and family in the northern states, this is not a big deal. WE are in central Texas though.

Jaguar Pride!!!

At E's school they have a very special way to award students who are showing their Jollyville Jaguar attributes (respectful, responsible, using self control, active listening, trying my best) in an exemplary way. It is called Jaguar Pride. This week E was recognized for using self control and active listening. His teacher, Mrs. Johnson, wrote, "Has worked very hard during reading workshop and stays on task". Today, at the Friday assembly, E was recognized in front of the entire school along with others who also received a Jaguar Pride. I was very proud to be there to see it. We are proud of E. He has worked very hard to improve certain behavior this year and we are seeing the fruits of that work. WAY TO GO E, WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!

Also, this week I received an email from E's teacher letting me know how pleased she is with E. We are proud of our Jollyville Jaguar!!

Just for Poops and Giggles

LOL....that cracked me up! I will refrain from giving the latest scoop on baby "e's" poops. But the GIGGLE part is quite exciting! She laughed at me :) Baby "e" really laughed and giggled at me yesterday. We think she has done it before, but this time it was unmistakable!! She has really found her voice and is communicating her wants/needs with more than one volume. How fun it is to decipher what she is trying to let us know. Baby "e" is quite social. She likes to talk and we carry on relatively long conversations. OK no, she is not speaking words yet, but she is very vocal. I think she makes a new type of sound every day.
Other new things:
Baby "e" has also found her hands and boy does she ever like the eat them (chew on them). She is a little drool monster.
She is very very strong, tries to sit herself up and she will yell at you if you don't help her in a timely manner ;-)
She is close to rolling over...i don't think it will be long before she does.
Last but not least, she is getting a little more hair, dark brown hair. Not looking so bald anymore.

Is it really 2010????

I cannot believe it has been 4 months since my last post. So much going on. I guess the time just keeps flying by. Since my last post we have had Halloween, I started maternity leave, our baby "e" arrived, THE Holidays, Visitors from out of town, "E" started a new semester of 1st grade, the National Championship game came and went....etc, etc, etc,...
So much has happened that i do believe I need to do a few "Flashback" posts. Until then, Happy 2010...this year is sure to be as, if not more, exciting and full as as the last.
From our family to yours, we wish you much love, happiness and joy this year!

Reading all on his own!

E is reading all on his own! We try to read a book each evening with E. E does a great job of reminding daddy and me that it is book time. Last night, he and I decided on Green Eggs and Ham. E was reading to me! He read not only the words but with emphasis with regard to the punctuation. I am simply amazed at how much he is growing and learning every day.

Crazy, Busy, Fun and full of LOVE!!

July has already been a busy month in this Harrison household.

JULY 1st---We had our sonogram! All things good. Our little pumpkin is growing very well. All of the little organs are on track and growth is good. OH and by the way, we are expecting a healthy baby **GIRL**. Sometime between Halloween and the first week of November, our little pumpkin will make her debut and she will be about 7.5 lbs. WE cannot wait for little Ella June Harrison's arrival.

***the dr. says we have a girl but will not be 100% until she arrives. Apparently it is more difficult to give 100% certainty for a girl***

JULY 2nd---E felt our little pumpkin move for the first time and he was the cutest and most excited big brother I have ever seen. Ella has been moving around a lot....but not so much that anyone else but me could feel it, until recently. Let's just say she is a pretty busy little one :)

JULY 4th---We had a fun filled day with friends and family. Parade in Lago Vista with the Deazvedos and Happy Birthday to Trent.

JULY 9th--Field Trip for e. e is enrolled in a summer camp experience with his day care. They have field trips about twice a week. This one, however, was to the Austin Museum of Modern Art--AMOMA. Which happens to be located directly across the street from the building where I work. I don't get to participate as a classroom mom often, so this was a definite treat for me. E allowed me to make an appearance during his field trip and was pretty excited to see me when i showed up.

JULY 11th---We had a super summer party in the back yard to celebrate E's 6th bday! His bday is actually today, the 13th but Monday's are not too conducive to parties. Lots of E's friends and "family" came to help celebrate and a good time was had by all. Ethan even got a chance to hand out his own CD, produced by DAD. It is a single of E singing Spiderman (of course) and T played keys and produced it. Trent and E had some extra time to play on the slip-n-slide....e is going to be a GREAT big brother!!! (bday photos click on the "our picts" link.

JULY 13th--Today, our little boy turns 6 years old. I cannot believe how fast it seems to have gone by. We made cupcakes for E to share with his classmates at Stepping Stone today. It is simply amazing how grown up my sweet little boy is already. He is truly a blessing!!!

In between all this T and I have been working working working. Both at the "office" and at home. T continues to work on his latest project and is recording every free moment he gets in the studio. We have purchased our kiddos' furniture. This week we plan to rearrange and move it into the room. E is getting/has gotten a loft bed and we have our crib and changing table for Ella. E is going to help get his side of the room organized :) so that we can be ready to welcome Ella in a few months. He will even part with a few of his books so she can have her own library. E is very excited to have a new bed and new space.

Pict from T's totally 80's bday bash!

What is new with me?? well I just keep growing a healthy baby and try to keep up with my boys. Picts taken by E.

Some of you kept asking for "belly" picts....will send some better ones soon ;-)

Whew....that is a snippit....CRAZY, Busy, Fun and full of LOVE!!
