RUMOR OF GLORY on FRIDAY NIGHT

My handsome husband has a concert performance along with many other amazing musicians. I encourage you to check it out. It is great music and a really cool drama. Very neat experience. This is an encore performance of the CD release show that Rumor of Glory did a few months ago. The admission is 1 item of nonperishable food. This will go to help restock the quickly dwindling food pantry. As most of us know, hard economic times have hit sooooo many people and this is a chance to help out a little. Come check out the show...you will not be disappointed!!!
You can hear see and hear more about ROG on their website www.rumorofglory.com

Hope to see you there!!

Sweet Dreams

On Saturday, Tony and I bought a new mattress. We are both so thrilled. We tested many and decided on the Serta pillow top. It is awesome. I have to say that I didn't realize how much I was not sleeping until now. We have both been sleeping so much better since getting this bed. My back even hurts less.
We were given a great deal by our new friends at Austin Mattress on McNeil. If you are in the market, you should stop by and see Lamar and Monica the selection is good and we had a great experience.
The new mattress combined with our new sheets (thanks Mom Harrison) make for a great sleep. Now we just need to paint the room and decorate.

NO more counting sheep for us. Sweet Dreams and Good Sleep!

My Super 5 Year Old!

Last week flew by with out my sharing some MAJOR news.....Ethan turned 5! It is so hard to believe that he is five. July 13, 2003, all 8 lbs, 2oz. of Ethan was born.

This year we celebrated with a back yard bash complete with super Slip'n'Slide and Superhero music for our superhero friends! The kiddos had tons of fun with the slip and slide and we had plenty of snacks for their super appetites. We had a lot of little superheros here to help us celebrate. Thanks for all the cool gifts :) Daddy and Mommy even got Ethan a Bike....:)

WE even sent our guests home with their own copy of Ethan's "Super" party hits (thank you Daddy), a super hero cup and some super hero stickers and a super pencil.
It was a wonderful party and loads of super fun! The rest of E's photos can be found in "our Picts"

FUWA

It is 23 days away. I am so excited :) Do you know what i am talking about? HMMMMM. Nope not the beginning of Longhorn football season (46 days and counting). Not Rumor of Glory's (my handsome husband and band) encore performance (17 days away, on August 1st) at Gateway;)

It is 23 days until the 2008 Summer Olympics starts http://en.beijing2008.cn/. I bet you didn't know that I LOVE the Olympics. Not only are the most amazing athletes together in one place competing with such heart and giving there all, but there is the unity of nationalities. The spirit of "One World One Dream" is alive and I love getting to experience a glimpse of some of the world's cultures. Even if it is just on my TV for few days. Something about it just lights up my heart.

Check out my favorite little mascots:

When you put their names together -- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni -- they say "Welcome to Beijing," offering a warm invitation that reflects the mission of Fuwa as young ambassadors for the Olympic Games. Check out their story here. http://en.beijing2008.cn/spirit/beijing2008/graphic/n214068254.shtml

Don't they just make your heart smile :)

As the day of the opening ceremonies approaches I continue to feel a brightness in my heart. I cannot wait to watch. I always dreamed of becoming the next Mary Lou Retton. It isn't too late right? Someone get me my Wheaties;) Don't you feel inspired?

Cup"caked" Crusader---Calling all Superheros

This morning we (Ethan and I) took cupcakes to school. Ethan's 5th birthday is Sunday and his party is tomorrow :) We wanted to share the fun with his classmates. All 20+ of them. So, last night Ethan and I baked and decorated cupcakes. Since Ethan is having a superhero bday party, we had to tie that theme in. I am so very excited that we made the cupcakes. I realize this is not a major feat to most moms, but for me it is. Usually, if i do anything, we just buy the cupcakes. Now, I didn't make the cake from scratch. But i did bake them in my new silicone cupcake pans. (Huge thanks to Auntie for those...I love them) Ethan helped me and supervised the process. We make funfetti cupcakes in spiderman cupcake papers, then we frosted them with vanilla icing and added sprinkles for color....red-spiderman, blue-superman, green-incredible hulk, and yellow-batman. I then added an "E" on each in black icing. Are they the most artistic cupcakes? NO! But, Ethan was happy with them and I was glad that we made them.
It made me SuperMom to Ethan!
